VEGETABLES…! FRUITS…!

VEGETABLE ,FRUITS

VEGETABLE ,FRUITS

VEGETABLES! FRUITS! My mind waivers and does not seem to stay put on one idea. It seems to be expressing from one thought to the other. I do not seem to be able to concentrate on one thought and delve into it, ponder over it and bring that to a conclusive end. One string of thoughts that has struck me, is what I am sharing.

The lockdown in the country or rather we can say that there is a worldwide lockdown. Humans have been asked to stay at home. This lockdown does not apply to any other species. Photographs of stray animals in city precincts are a reflection of animals being concerned about the existence of the human race. There are talks of the environment being clean, pollution levels coming down, etc., etc. …. . Humans are under complete lockdown except for some who are duty-bound. They have been hailed as the true-spirited warriors of society. They have relentlessly been braving the brunt of all to provide succor to thousands.

Everybody Discussed On Television

This is what is known to everybody and discussed on television by the hour. People are scared of the lurking virus. But, but …. . One thing that has not deterred people from coming out of their houses is vegetables and fruits. Not even the fear of contracting the virus. If one sees the crowd gathering at the “Sabzi Mandi” would lead a few of the “house arrested” people to have heart attacks. Social distancing gets converted to social intimacy for that period of time. I am impressed by the love of Indians for eating vegetables. Or maybe the newfound cooks who stay at home are so serious about their culinary skills that they are not able to stop themselves from straying out. Why can’t we stop the people from making this commotion? Their lives may not be important to them but why are we so impassionate about other people’s lives.
