THE MONSTER IN THE CLOSET OF LUCKY YOU- TAYLOR SWIFT AN ARTIST OF VARIOUS GENRES

The Monster In The Closet Of Luckey You

There was no monster in the closet of the schoolgirl of the small town and if this was, he was going to be kicked out, kicked out far-far away, and with him the insignificance of a small town. Who knew that a small-town schoolgirl, who won the national poetry competition for her poem ‘Monster in My Closet’, was in no time going to become a femme fatale of millions of music lovers all over the world. The first song by this unknown girl was ‘Lucky You.

But all this glory did not come out of the blue. To spot talent is one thing, to support it is another and to sacrifice for someone’s burgeoning talent is yet another. The small town Reading, Pennsylvania anonymous school girl was no other than the present star singer, musician, and songwriter Taylor Alison Swift (b.13th December 1989- ). Her father Scott Kingsley Swift and mother Andrea Gardner Swift were no artists. Father is a stockbroker and the mother is a homemaker. Maybe the streak of singing was a legacy from her grandmother, Majorie Finlay, an opera singer, and quite a name in her times. The attraction for music Taylor imbibed listening to her grandmother’s songs.

Taylor Swift Family Passionate For Songwriting

This was a family that recognized her passion for songwriting, singing, and music and then supported her. Andrea Gardner Swift took the help of Dan Dymtrow, the music manager. A twelve-year-old Taylor was launched in Abercrombie & Fitch’s ‘Rising Stars’ campaign, then signed up with RCA Records, and then one after another the marshals of success were at her beck and call.

‘Our Song’ And ‘Teardrops On My Guitar’

Scott Kingsley Swift took a transfer just to support her budding music career. 2005 was a landmark year for 16-year-old Taylor Swift when Scott Borchetta was impressed by her performance at ‘Bluebird Cafe’ and he signed her for his own production level. Her first album ‘Taylor Swift’ was released. It was a grand success- the songs running for 157 weeks and the album occupying the number five spot on the billboard table. Among teenagers, she became a craze with her songs ‘Our Song’ and ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’ on every teenager’s lips. Her second album Sounds of the Season: The Taylor Swift Holiday collection’ was no less a record-breaker.

Record-Breaking Journey

And then was the phase of her record-breaking journey on the gamut of music. She climbed the number of billboards very fast. ‘Love Story’ in 2008 billboard no.4 and ‘You Belong with Me’ no.2. Now the pelting of recognitions- ‘Best Female Music Video’ on MTV, ‘Artist of the Year,’ youngest ever to win Grammy, ‘Best Country Album’, ‘Best Country Song’, and ‘Best Female Country Vocal Performance,’ her album ‘Speak Now’ entering the Guinness Book of World records and whatnot. ‘Speak Now’ was downloaded more than 278,000 in its first week.

Name Of Taylor Swift Was Attached

The name of Taylor Swift was attached with country music but this ‘Lucky You’ different from had come out of this cocoon. The new album ‘Red’ was released and she proved that she was well versed with the other genres of music dance-pop, heartland rock, and dubstep tracks, etc. To her credit are 10 ‘Grammy Awards’, 23 ‘Billboard Music Awards, 11 ‘Country Music Association Awards, 8 ‘Academy of Country Music Awards, 19 ‘American Music Awards, 1 ‘Brit Award’ and an ‘Emmy Award’. Then the exceptional songwriters she is so she is very much there in ‘The Songwriters Hall of Fame.’

Now let’s be a bit personal. Affairs are very much there in artists’ life. Taylor is not an exception. Joe Jonas of the famous Jonas Brothers, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhall, Harry Styles, and Calvin Harris are a few celebrities who were like flash in the pan in the amorous journey.
And we do not know why Taylor Swift does not show the light of the day to a 350 pages novel written by her when she was merely twelve years old!

MONSTER IN MY CLOSET

There’s a monster in my closet and I don’t know what to do!
Have you ever seen him?
Has he ever pounced on you?
I wonder what he looks like!
Is the purple with red eyes?
I wonder what he likes to eat.
What about his size!!
Tonight I’m gonna catch him!
I’ll set a really big trap!
Then I’ll train him really well.
He’ll answer when I clap!

When I looked up in that closet, there was nothing there but stuff.
I know that monster’s in there!
I heard him huff and puff!
Could it be he wants to eat me?
Maybe I’m his favorite tray.
And if he comes to get me,
I’ll scream loudly, “Go away!!”
If he’s nice, I’ll name him “Happy.”
If he’s bad I’ll name him “Grouch.”
I suspect that he is leaving, but if not. . .I’ll kick him out!

Lucky You

There’s a little girl in this little town
With a little too much heart to go around
Live forever, never say never
You could do better, that’s what she says
Mama named her lucky on a starlit night
A rabbit foot in her pocket, she dances in spite
Of the fact that she’s different
And yet she’s the same
And she says lucky you, lucky you
She sings her little song, she walks along
A little pathway headed for the skies
Left to travels, lives they unravel

Mind over matter, that’s what she says
Mama named her lucky on a starlit night
A rabbit foot in her pocket, she dances in spite
Of the fact that she’s different
And yet she’s the same
And she says lucky you, lucky you, lucky you
Maybe she’ll sing you do do do do
Maybe she’ll bring you into the skies
Honey, she’ll love you, funny how some view
Angels above you ain’t so far away
Mama named her lucky on a starlit night
A rabbit foot in her pocket, she dances in spite
Of the fact that she’s different
And yet she’s the same
And she says lucky you, lucky you
