Whenever going to someone’s place, always try to bring a gift with you. Sweets and pastries are highly welcomed in Morocco, as they love good sugary snacks.

Whenever you are invited for a meal, be prepared to eat from one large central bowl. Eat as much as you want but only from your portion of the bowl.

When you’re eating food and someone enters the room, stand up to give them notice and respect. After that, you can continue eating.

Always use your right hand for eating, greeting, or passing things, as the left hand is considered unclean in Morocco.

Make sure that you wear body-covering clothes when you’re in Morocco, as showing skin is considered inappropriate there. Although, exceptions can be made on beaches.

Do not fix a meeting on Friday afternoon, as most of the companies are closed for the prayer. Avoid arranging meetings in Ramadan as well because Muslims fast and can’t eat or drink.

Never ever offer your hand first for a handshake while greeting a woman in Morocco. If the woman does not extend her hand, the man should bow to greet her.

Say ‘No’ to showing PDA when you’re in Morocco, as it is not considered appropriate there. Though men and women can walk holding hands but kissing should be avoided.

Do not feel ignored or unwelcomed if you feel that handshakes are not firm. People do not shake hands as firmly as in many other countries.

Do not start eating until your host finishes prayer for blessing the food. Eat once your host starts eating.
